Update #4 Wednesday 4/7 at 9:50 p.m. Still no Ron Dawes results :( I won't be updating again until tomorrow afternoon, but when the results go up, they can be found here. So check there if you are looking for those results.
Update #3 Tuesday 4/6 at 10:31 p.m. Those of you looking for Ron Daws results, they are expected to be out soon. Ron Daws is truly an old school race. Back in the day you had to wait for your typewriter generated issue of Run Minnesota to arrive to get your results. But rumor has it the results will be out witnhin the next 24 hours. Stay tuned or check this site as I won't be updating again until tomorrow afternoon.
Update #2 Tuesday 4:56 p.m. Easter Rise n Shine photo album from Skinny Ski added to Reports section (thanks Kirk). And thanks Kirt for the update on the results (or lacktherefore of) from Run with the Wolves.
Update #1 Monday 4/5 at 5:23 p.m. Running Opener results added. One race report (Jordan 26.2 added)
I threw in a few pictures of a race from a few years back (the 2008 Run the Valley). If you have any pictures from previous years for an upcoming race you'd like to share, contact me at Michael.D.NawrockiATgmailDOTcom. That last sentence was really difficult to write.

Upcoming Races
Saturday April 10, 2010
Fred Kurz Handicapped Memorial Ten Miler (Wayzata, MN) Link #1 Link #2
- $5 for MDRA members, $8 for others, $15 for race-day registration.
- A truly unique race were runners are handicapped based on their most recent race performance. the slower your last race, the bigger your head start!
- First runner starts at 8:30 a.m. and final runner tends to go around 9:30 a.m.
- Out-and-back course on the (crushed limestone?) soft, flat Luce Line Trail.
- One of the oldest MDRA races. A great way to celebrate our anniversary.
2008 Run the Valley: Two MDRA guys wearing medals and the official MDRA Water Boy.
- $25 if registered before April 9. $28.25 to register on-line. $35 for race-day registration.
- 5k run starts at 8:30 a.m. 10k at 8:40 a.m. 5k walk at 8:45 a.m.
- Proceeds go to Golden Valley Human Services Foundation.
- In 2008 I served as water boy for a couple friends of mine who were running the course. It is a very nice course takes you through some Golden Valley neighborhoods. There are some rolling hills, but it is an overall flat course.
- A fun race with good pre and post-race access to a school gym and breezeway.
MDRA President on his way to victory in the 2008 Run the Valley 10k.
Dr. Steven Fetzer Memorial 20k/Mayowood Two Mile (Rochester MN) Link
- $5 for the two mile ($8 to register on-line). $25 for the 20k ($28 on-line).
- Women start at 9 a.m. Men start at 9:12 a.m. Two mile starts at 9:20.
- This looks like another fun race. A unique format to match the unique distance. Women get a 12 minute head start on the men. Using this equalizer formula, there is a $150 cash prize for the first winner, regardless of gender (for both open and masters runners). The fastest master and open runner of the other gender gets $100.
- Age group winners get homemade cookies (and the requisite gift certificate to a running store), which makes me wish I was in better shape. Wait I made my own homemade cookies a few days ago. Nevermind. Phew. Getting into age group winner shape is a lot of work and not something I'm very good at even when I am in good shape.
- Race starts at 10 a.m. Entry fees: $28.25 (includes online processing fee). Mail-in deadline has passed.
- Proceeds go to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
- Lake Nokomis a flat, fast course.
- Did you know Minnesota has an Australian Rules Football team? I didn't. Hopefully by now you've figured out they are called the Freeze. Check it out. Link. Go Freeze!!!
- Race starts at 10 a.m. Entry fee: $20.00.
- Proceeds go to Blaine Track and Field program.
- $15 or $20 for raceday registration.
- I am pleased to announce this is one race that does not have online processing fee, as you register online with Paypal.
- I am also pleased to announce I was able to find some information about this race. It really tested my Google skillz. It appears to be my kind of race: grassroots and low-key. It looks like student run race with all the funds going to a different research organization each year. This year, all proceeds go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
- $75 for the half-marathon ($80.31 to register online). $35 for the 10k ($38.01 to register online).
- 1 mile kids run also a part of the event.
