You know why running is a great sport? Because it's very unlikely that you'll be attacked by a fish.
Plenty or races this weekend, and only a chance of storms for most of MN. Check RaceBerryJam for all the info.

Put on your sunscreen and wear your sunglasses, kids.
In case you missed it, there was a moving story on Kare11 last night. It's about a runner who was stricken with ocular melanoma. I didn't even know that existed before last night, and now it scares the hell out of me. Watch the story. Have a tissue handy. Buy new sunglasses this weekend.

Run boston without leaving your computer
A guy named David Brooks ran the Boston Marathon this year with a webcam of some sort strapped to his noggin. I'm not sure if was a good idea to run in the rain with an electric gizmo on his person, but the finish line video is pretty sweet.
In other news, the New York Marathon is doing away with "rabbits". These are the professional pace setters who typically set a course record or world record tempo, then drop out of the race before the finish. Bad news for those of you who can run 16 miles at a 4:45 pace.
